I came across a couple of old Man from UNCLE eps on VHS the other day, so I re-set up my video play to see what was on it. Surprisingly, one of them was The Project Strigas Affair, which is most famous for being the first time ever William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy appeared on screen together (mere months later, they were starring in Star Trek)
But oh, I can see why folk see the slash in this show. Take this particular exchange:
Scene: After the party where Mr. Donfield has been asked to 'show a weakness for women and strong martinis, Mr. Donfield is feeling a little bit the worse for wear and Mrs. Donfield is rather upset.
Mrs. Donfield: I never should've let him out of my sight, I should've known better."
Mr. Donfield: Oh, sweetie. It was just awful, You have no..." To Napoleon "What's our next move?"
Napoleon To Mrs. Donfield: "I know how you feel, Anne."
Mrs. Donfield: "Do you really, Mr. Solo?"
Knock at the door, Napoleon holds out a hand to silence the Donfields
Napoleon opens the door and Illya, still in disguise, walks in.
Illya: Kurasov insisted I spend the night at the Embassy.
*grin*
(You can see the exchange here, at You Tube, it's about five minutes in)
