Stash busting!

Well, this probably won't be of interest to most of you, but especially for
peppapig, I can confirm that the BGA (The Big Gay Afghan) is go!
Okay, so for those of you are now curious, the BGA is called the BGA because it started with a bunch of scarves
cuvalwen and I knitted one year for many of our gay friends. These were in a variety of rainbow colours and form the foundation for the rather large amount of stash I collected along the same vein. I was going to knit the odds and ends into squares, but the sheer horror of sewing all these squares together made me re-think the problem.
So I'm crocheting an afghan out of the yarn. Sound fun?
Well, no. It's fun fur (aka eyelash yarn). Crochet is not recommended. But I'm having a go and it seems to be okay so far. I've now got a (tentative) 18" square and a pile more yarn to attach. There will be pictures. Promise!
In other news had a scary moment this morning when the building I work in began to shake quite a lot. Not sure why, but it was really weird. Mind you, the place shakes when big lorries go past outside, so it probably wasn’t much. What really gets me is that the building has, supposedly, blastproof windows. I suspect that, if one where to go off outside, while the windows would be okay, the building itself wouldn't!
No canteen from hell horror stories today, guaranteed. I'm going out for lunch as I need new shoes!
