The crack_van memories have been disused for a while now - I think they hit their limit. I know I was on the working party to ensure that the new (as it was then) tagging function was applied to every prior fanfic. Therefore you can get the previous recs for a fandom by clicking on the appropriate tag. viz.

What I'm doing at the moment is the same thing that mikes_grrl did for Life on Mars a while ago. I've set up a delicious account for The Professionals Crack Van Recs, which enables a would-be-reccer to check through to make sure that their intended rec has not been done before without all that tedious scrolling. At the moment it's searchable by author, reccer, month, pairing, rating and crossover. I might add more if need be. It's a little more powerful than the tag function alone because of the enhanced searching. Hopefully it will be useful for crack_van reccers!
