So here's a brief hello from the frozen North of England. I'm typing this one-handed because Bonny has claimed my right hand as her exclusive property...

She is uttery adorable, but very tiny. She's not going to get much bigger either. There *will* be pics!!!

Anyhow, today's carol is one you will all have heard, but I've been searching for this particular arrangement for weeks. The discordant chanting underneath is wonderful, but it's the descant that is a true marvel. Here is the London Cantata Singers with "I Saw Three Ships".

(unfortunately embedding is disabled with this one, and there's no visual.)

What a delightful version of "I Saw Three Ships"! Thanks for sharing this - I love it. *immediately saves to YouTube playlist*

I'm terribly keen to see your photos of Bonny (eventually). Don't forget to include one of her nomming your right hand ♥

It's the descant that absolutely does it for me. I've finally found out who wrote the arrangement (it's on my Dad's carol CD, so I had to wait to get back to Cleethorpes to find out) - Martindale Sidwell. What a fantastic name!

Photos will turn up. Promise. Though I can't actually promise one of her nomming on my hand 'cos how else will I take the pic?

Heh, there's at least two more, with an option of a couple over the period. (More if I can find a special version of Good King Wenceslas for Boxing Day!)

Happy belated Solstice to you, hon.

I don't know who Bonny is - a ground squirrel?
But I know what you're talking about, my Felix loves to claim my whole right arm too...

Anyway. It's a beautiful song and it reminds me to go searching for my John Dowland CD(not Sting!). And then I'll check your other carols.

Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Bonny is my folk's new puppy. She's a Shetland Sheepdog and is *adorable*

The rest of the carols are f-locked, as I tend to lock down my journal quite a bit. I've therefore added you as a friend so you can see them, if that's okay? Shout if you want taking off, but I've seen you around the place and you seem nice enough!

Merry Christmas to you too!

Thanks for friending! Sorry, I first didn't knew that the others were f-locked.

And Shetland Sheepdogs puppies ARE adorable! My brother just bought a Border Collie and she enchants all of us.

Definitely a smart dog!

And I love this version, though there are other versions almost as nice out there.
